Just a quick update: tasting in Burgundy was OK. We got to taste the entire pyramid, from regional to Grand Cru level, on each visit (except at Trapet, where we started at the Commune level and went through 2 1er Crus to end with Le Chambertin). Other Grand Crus tasted: Corton (Bressandes), Clos St. Denis, Clos Vougeot.
We got a warm reception at the wineries, tasted in cellars big (Louis Jadot) and small, from botttles and from barrels (again Jadot, where we tasted some 15 2006s!). It was my second visit to Chateau de Meursault after my trip about a year ago (see earlier posting); the reds here were disappointing as they were without exception very tannic, even those with quite a few years of bottle ageing.
Getting ready for my next trip, to Tuscany this time. It's a regular vacation, so not primarily wine-oriented, but I should be able to squeeze in one or two visits (need to stock up for those camping BBQs anyway).
