Diploma Graduation Ceremony

Monday I attended the official WSET Diploma Graduation Ceremony 2010, in London's Guild Hall. I had not expected this, but I was called upon the stage, to be congratulated by no less than Hugh Johnsson OBE himself - and so were all 150+ other Diploma Graduates: one by one! And then some 40-ish award winners.
For each of us there was an applause from the 700-strong audience. Apart from speeches by Mr. Johnson and Jancis Robinson MW, who is taking over from him as the honorary chairperson of WSET, that was pretty much the ceremony. The drinks and canapés afterwards were nice. The photographer was still there, so a lot of people used the opportunity to get some more pictures taken, as did me and classmate and fellow-graduate Peter:

One of the best Rieslings from the cellar, Emrich_Schönleber's 2007 Monzinger Frühlingsplätzchen Spätlese, to go with a not-so spicy chicken&rice dish at Diederik's, an old friend whom I haven't seen for a few years. The label does not look that appealing, so I'll probably double-decant into another bottle.
